Vincent Price in The Last Man on Earth | 11x17 art print

Is it weird that Vincent Price, Charleton Heston and Will Smith have all played the same character on screen? Because it doesn't seem like the three would have much to say to each other in real life. But here we are, all of them occupying the same dramatic skin in adaptions of Richard Matheson's novel "I Am Legend." It's my favorite of the bunch, though Smith has a few minutes om his 2007 film that's probably the best work of his career. "The Last Man on Earth" has a surprising wit that doesn't undermine its downer ending, and the film's modest budget squeezes every drop from the mid-century modern-meets-fascist architecture in Rome. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's in the public domain so a lot of the prints out there are awful; but good ones exist and are worth the effort to find.
