I have no idea what Robert Eggers' 2019 feature "The Lighthouse" is about ... I'm not even sure yet what really happens in the movie, let alone what it's all supposed to mean. For the moment I'm content to bask in its metaphysics. My confused state of my relationship with the film is only momentary and will ossify into something (groan) "meaningful" soon enough. This piece is a curio of my first impression of "The Lighthouse," for whatever that's worth.
