Tobe Hooper's 1979 adaption of Stephen King's novel "Salem's Lot" is a weird beast. There's an essay to be written about how the various changes to the story both help and hurt the overall narrative, the most confounding of which has to be adaption Dracula homage Kurt Barlow as Max Shreck's titular Nosferatu. It works, but I can't explain why.
