Typography poster for "American Nightmare", a song from the Misfits album Legacy of Brutality.
"American Nightmare" is an oddity, even among the early songs by the Misfits. Like a lot of the band's catalog, it's a basically a novelty song with a body count... but this tune is both sillier and nastier than many of their other songs. It needed something that screamed Herschell Gordon Lewis!!! but I couldn't avoid using that still from "The Black Cat" as a centerpiece.
