I'm occasionally at a loss to define -- in words -- the word "occult." You need a solid paragraph of text just to scratch the surface, but that's how it goes when you're dealing with things that might be intentionally hidden from our eyes. This image is my explanation, and I hope it conveys that fog of introspection, investigation, mystery and danger that goes with spelunking around the subconscious. This image is featured on the cover of The Ghastling's lucky 13th issue, which I designed. I'm really proud of it and hope you take a moment to Google the UK-based horror anthology.
